Data & Tooling Analyst – Cirencester & UK

An exciting opportunity in a very successful IT Asset Management Consultancy business that is the fastest growing in the UK.  We are looking for an experienced Data and SAM/ITAM Tooling Analyst to support the delivery of services into client engagements across multiple industry sectors including finance, government, defence, healthcare and the private sector across the UK.


Role Duties

You will be responsible for supporting our SAM Consultants, strategic partners and most importantly our clients in understanding their IT assets and software licensing.   You will be involved from pre-sales meetings, through to presentation and delivery both on-site and remotely.  As part of Derive Logic’s Assuring Digital Transformation offering you would be analysing client data to advise them on the commercial impact of their IT strategy and transformation plans.

SAM & ITAM tooling is a critical element of any clients IT operations, our services cover the entire lifecycle of a ITAM/SAM tool from health checks to identify and resolve identified issues, through to the design and deployment of new tools to a full suite of managed services.  It is critical that you are able to provide clients with a detailed understanding of their existing tooling environments and future requirements.



  • Engaging with partners and clients to collect usage and entitlement data
  • Analysing customer license contracts
  • Analysis of the usage and entitlement data with our analysts to produce high quality client facing reports
  • Produce reports with recommendations of how to manage licenses, reconcile and re-harvest licensing entitlement to the client including risk mitigation and cost savings
  • Analysis of client ITAM/SAM tooling and the creation and implementation of plans to optimise them
  • Development of the Derive Logic ITAM/SAM services and strategy
  • Participate in internal and external workshops as required



  • Proven working experience as Software Asset Management Analyst
  • Knowledge of ITAM & SAM principles and processes
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and consultative skills
  • Licensing knowledge and product use rights for Microsoft, Oracle, IBM, SAP, Symantec, Adobe & others would be beneficial
  • Knowledge of SAM tools (including Snow, Flexera, Aspera, Certero) would be strongly desirable
  • Excellent client-facing and internal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Solid organisational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
  • Highly motivated and results oriented.
